You hung a new diffuser, loved it for a few weeks, and now you are not sure it is doing anything. Before you give up on it, run through these five quick checks. Most of the time it is one small thing.
Check 1: Is the wooden lid dry?
A hanging diffuser works through its wooden lid. The fragrance soaks into the wood and the wood releases it into the car. If the lid has dried out, the scent goes quiet. Gently turn the bottle upside down for a moment so fresh fragrance soaks back in, then hang it again.
Check 2: Is it hanging where the air moves?
A diffuser tucked behind a seat or in a still corner will struggle. Hang it from the mirror or near a vent so moving air carries the scent through the car. Keep the cord short so it never reaches the windscreen.
Check 3: Have you got used to it?
This one surprises people. After a few days your nose tunes out a smell it meets every day. Ask a passenger, or step out of the car for a while and notice it when you get back in. If they can smell it, it is working.
Check 4: Is something else covering it?

Check 5: How much is left?
